Each resource pack is designed to complement a lesson in a Western published textbook such as New Cutting Edge, Face to Face, International Express, Headways, New English File, etc. Each pack is sufficient for classes from 1 to 2 hours (depending on the emphasis placed on speaking activities). The resource packs complement the learning objectives and give you additional images, exercises and texts which you can use to make the lesson more culturally relevant to Vietnamese students.

 

Each lesson plan pack will consist of:

 

• Lesson Plan.doc - Similar to lesson plans found in many Teacher's Resource Books, but more detailed and easier to read. A typical CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) format is used for consistency. These documents include:

• Name and Objective of each stage of the lesson

• Teacher's instructions of the procedure for each stage. Includes Instructions, Instruction Checking Questions, Classroom management etc.

• Interaction (Teacher - Student, Student - Student)

• Time alloted for each task

• Whiteboard plan and notes

• Optional (filler) activities

• Speaking activities and games

 

• Vocabulary MFP.doc - MFP of the Adapted Vocabulary and task blocking words. This is a document detailing for each word: definition/Meaning, Form (part of speech), Pronunciation (phonemes) and in some cases the Vietnamese translation and/or CCQs (Comprehension Checking Questions)

 

• Vocabulary PowerPoint - Images of the new vocabulary in high resolution powerpoint suitable for projection on a screen or TV monitor. These images can also be printed out to make A4 or A5 flashcards.

 

• xxx.Worksheet.doc, xxx.text.doc - Adapted exercises and texts to make the lesson culturally relevant (ie. interesting!) for your students.
